Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe, effective, and affordable way to rejuvenate the face and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. They are reduced to on grown lines, forehead creases and fine lines around the eyes. They are also used to reduce grinding of teeth which causes headaches and jaw pain.

How Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Work?

Anti-wrinkle injections deliver a product derived from a purified protein to targeted muscles. The injected treatment works by stopping communication between the nerve and the muscle, preventing the muscle in question from contracting and making the movements that would cause wrinkling of the skin.

What Can I Expect at my Appointment for Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

At your appointment, Dr Williams will go over your goals and expectations and propose a treatment plan to achieve your desired effect. Tiny needles are used to inject the treatment product into the targeted areas of your face. Most patients experience only temporary discomfort and may have little mosquito-bite like marks on their face that subside within about 30-60 minutes after treatment. Patients can immediately return to their regular daily activities.

Results of Anti-Wrinkle Injections

The results of your anti-wrinkle injection treatment will be apparent within two weeks. The results will last an average of three to four months.

Facts about Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Dermal filler Calm woman receives a dermal injection.

There is a big difference between dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections. While both are injected into the skin by a medical professional, the similarities stop there. Dermal fillers provide volume while anti-wrinkle injections freeze the muscle in order to provide a smoother appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Depending upon what you want to improve on your appearance, you may need one or the other – or a combination of both. Anti-wrinkle injections are not capable of sculpting the face or adding any kind of volume. However, they can be one of the best ways to smooth out lines and wrinkles and reduce the overall appearance of the wrinkles

Dermal fillers are injected into the face to correct fine lines, creases and folds, scars and loss of volume. They are commonly used for enhancing lips and filling creases around the nose and down-turned corners of the mouth. They are comprised of natural hyaluronic acid, which is broken down over time naturally in the body. Dr Williams uses a highly developed Swiss product which is of the highest quality with predictable and long-lasting results.

The treatment is painless as Dr Williams delivers dental "blocks" of anaesthesia prior to injecting the filler. Expect to feel numb for a few hours after, and it is common to experience some bruising and swelling for a few days after. We advise not to do this treatment within 2 weeks of any major life events to allow for any slight side effects.
