How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign is a treatment that removes the need for these traditional attachments (wires and brackets). Instead, we'll use a set of transparent, 'nearly invisible' removable aligners that are changed every two weeks, helping to straighten teeth.
Each aligner is specially customised to your teeth, with each replacement aiding to move your teeth week by week until they are straightened to the desired final position. This process of aligning teeth allows for less interference in daily life, with an option of being removable, which can be beneficial for brushing, flossing and eating.
How Invisalign works
Invisalign for adults
While suitable for teens, we generally recommend Invisalign treatment for our adult patients. Invisalign provides straighter teeth and better smiles, but with the flexibility and convenience to live the life you have become accustomed to!
We have alternative treatments, such as traditional braces, which are very effective. However, many of our adult patients are looking for a more discreet, removable option that isn't quite as dramatic a visual change, or as obvious, as some of the other available treatments.

Almost undetectable
Invisalign is almost undetectable to the naked eye.
If you are looking for a treatment option that your friends and co-workers are less likely to notice, then Invisalign may be for you. Invisalign aligners are made from plastic, and not very noticable.
Oral Hygiene
While other treatment options should not affect the cleanliness of your teeth if you follow our recommendations, Invisalign allows you to more easily clean every part of your teeth because of the fact that they can be removed. This means it is easier to keep your teeth clean, and prevent food from becoming lodged.
Removable!
Because Invisalign aligners can be removed by yourself temporarily at any time, you are able to take them out for special occasions such as a wedding, or to eat meals. This also allows you to not worry about the food restrictions of other treatment methods. This is a good example of how Invisalign can be a less of a "lifestyle change" than other treatments.

Invisalign offers a range of treatment options for teenagers that offer an alternative to traditional orthodontic procedures, allowing for almost invisible, removable and comfortable aligners to help move teeth into the desired position.
Invisalign aligners can be especially ideal as they allow for normal brushing and flossing because of their removable function. For teens who may struggle with the more involved cleaning routine that comes with other treatments, this can be a huge benefit. However, the best type of treatment will vary for teenagers since so many factors depend on the stage of their oral development. Some young patients are just as suited for treatments like Invisalign as most adults, while others will need to consider other options.

What is Invisalign Teen?
Invisalign Teen aims to straighten teen’s teeth without the restrictions and visibility of metal braces. Invisalign Teen reassures self-conscious teen’s that they don’t have to let metal, wire and brackets hold them back from enjoying all the things that come with teen-hood as Invisalign Teen is virtually invisible and removable. Invisalign essentially uses a series of clear, removable aligners that are custom-made to the teen’s teeth. Benefits of Invisalign Teen include:
Removability
This means teens can brush and floss properly, play all sports and musical instruments without worrying about consequent cuts and injuries and they can eat foods you cannot eat with more traditional braces such as pop-corn and whole apples.
Fewer visits to the Orthodontist
Invisalign Teen requires less frequent visits to the dentist than that of more traditional braces. Braces usually require monthly adjustments and repairs of broken wires or brackets.
Tracking
Invisalign Teen aligners requires teens to wear their braces for 20 – 22 hours a day so they have blue indicators built-in that fade with wear. This helps parents monitor how often their children are wearing their aligners.
Free replacements
Invisalign acknowledges that teens often lose their belongings so Invisalign Teen provides six replacement aligners free, just in case.
Cost & Time
Invisalign Teen’s cost and treatment time is about the same as more traditional braces. Also, some dental insurance may cover up to half the cost for Invisalign Teen treatments.
Effectiveness
Invisalign Teen can be as effective as the more traditional orthodontic treatments for the more common teeth straightening issues such as underbite, overbite, overcrowding and gaps between the teeth.
A happier teen
research shows that parents underestimate the extent to which teens feel self-conscious about crooked or cracked teeth. Using braces as a corrective solution may also affect their confidence negatively. Invisalign Teen can consequently remove a potential source of anxiety.
Invisalign Teen is especially designed for youth, and was developed with teens, parents and leading orthodontists who understand the unique treatment needs of the patients in line with their active lifestyles. The Invisalign Teen aligners are made with the same technology used to create adult aligners, but because teens are always on the move, a few special features have been added.
Teens are able to measure the wear time with blue 'wear-indicators', which fade from blue to clear to signal when it is time to change aligners. There are also special features incorporated in the Invisalign Teen aligners to compensate for the eruption of canines, second premolars and second molars.
Teens also get the advantage of having six free individual replacement aligners included, just in case any get lost.
How does Invisalign Teen differ from the adult Invisalign treatment?
Invisalign Teen varies from the adult Invisalign treatments due to the addition of a couple of new clinical features. Although majority of the benefits and processes are the same between the two treatments, Invisalign Teen has two main differentiating features which include compliance indicators and up to six free replacement aligners.
Both new clinical features are accommodating to common teenage habits such as misplacing belongings and nonconformity / disobedience. The free replacement means parents can have peace of mind if an aligner is lost. The built-in assurance checker (a blue indicator that fades over time, if worn as directed) means both parents and orthodontists can check the teen’s compliance.

Includes 30 min consultation, treatment recommendations/discussions relating to Invisalign, 3D iTero scan plus Invisalign simulation and a treatment plan free of charge, completed by our oral health therapist. In addition to this, we will require 1 x panoramic x-ray and 1 x Lat Ceph which will be charged at private health insurance rebate only (no gap) or taken at South coast radiology at which will be bulk billed. It is at the clinician’s discretion if new x-rays or impressions are required due to a time lapse between an initial consultation and treatment commencement date. Total cost for Invisalign treatment varies, depending on a patient’s individual requirements and may range from $5500 to $9000. Health fund benefits may not be claimable for orthodontic treatment, please check with your health insurer for details about your cover entitlements. Not all patients are suitable for Invisalign and results vary for each individual.
If Robina town dentals cancelation policy is not adhered to, this consultation will be chargeable with a fee of $150. This consultation is not a comprehensive oral examination, nor does it include a preventive clean. Recommendations will be made if required to seek Oral examination and clean prior to accepting orthodontic treatment.

The iTero scan creates an interactive, high-resolution 3D image of your teeth by taking over 6,000 images per second and a result, there are fewer redos so that you are more comfortable in the chair.
The cost of Invisalign braces and treatment in the Gold Coast and Robina area do vary and do tend to cost more than regular braces.
